The aunt of an Indigenous teen whose arrest is under an internal police investigation has lodged an official complaint with the police watchdog.

, one of which showed the 18-year-old falling to the ground while handcuffed after a plainclothes police officer swept his legs from underneath him.

Another other video shows the man appearing to shake and become limp after he stumbles to the ground with the officer. The man's aunt, Shirley-Anne Binge, says she isn't satisfied with the handling of the investigation and has submitted a complaint about her nephew's arrest to the LECC, which has been seen by the ABC."It is shocking. It is disappointing. You wouldn't treat an animal like that. He's not a dog he's a human being."Ms Binge said her family was highly distressed watching the videos.Shirley-Anne Binge is advocating on behalf of her nephew.

Police said officers had been called to the Taree street following reports a man had allegedly tried to break into two homes.The 18-year-old has pleaded not guilty to one charge of possessing goods suspected of being stolen. He was refused bail when he appeared in Taree Local Court last week.Human rights lawyer and the director of the National Justice Project George Newhouse has been assisting Ms Binge with her complaint and described the video as "heartbreaking".

"We're calling on the NSW government to run a full investigation and inquiry into the use of force by NSW Police," he said.
