A Nottinghamshire family say they faced a long wait
A Nottinghamshire family say they have waited five years for repairs to be made to their home. Unemployed, Martin Stevenson, 42, of Arnold, has lived in the property for a number of years with his partner.
The housing association, Jigsaw Homes Group, has managed the property since they took it over from Gedling Homes in 2018 who no longer exist. Martin said: "When I moved here the outhouse got robbed.Following the break-in Martin said he reported the door as being broken, and now feels as though "they have been fobbing us off for five years." They have been to measure it three times and now they are saying it's been done when clearly it hasn't.
Martin said: "We've had a leak under the sink for two or three years, and have been moaning about that to get that done, and that still hasn't been done. We couldn't go out for house for god knows how long, because the front door wouldn't lock and they have only just done that now. Martin added: "We haven't got a secure gate on so we can't shut the gate on at night so people could just walk straight into our back garden." He said that the repairs were supposed to be done towards the start of the pandemic, but were delayed.
