A pet dog has been shot dead by police after it attacked its owners in Perth. 7NEWS
Upon the arrival of the first attending officer, the dog attacked another family member.
“Due to the extremely aggressive nature of the dog a police firearm was discharged two times to stop the attack,” WA Police said in a statement. “Given the injuries the dog received a third shot was fired to euthanise the dog and prevent it from suffering any further.”Credit:Steven Quail was bitten multiple times on his neck, chin and one of his arms, while Michelle was bitten several times on one of her legs.All three family members were taken to Rockingham General Hospital for treatment.The family told 7NEWS the dog was calm and happy and was a rescue dog that they loved and had for a month.
He’d recently been desexed and was wearing a cone, which they say probably saved their lives during the attack.
