A family said they have 'lost everything' after their home was gutted by a fire
A family said they have "lost everything" after their home was gutted by a fire. Three crews rushed to the scene of the house fire in Vale Crescent North, Wollaton, on Tuesday morning, October 18.
The 35-year-old, a full-time mum, said she has lived in the house with her children for four years. It all started at around 8am, when her six year old son went downstairs in the kitchen to inform her mum "the curtain was on fire".Speaking of the incident, the mum added: “I was in the kitchen and my son, aged six, came down downstairs and said that the curtain was on fire. She went on and said: “He was petrified, and apologized. He said he did not mean to do it.
“But I got all the five children out of the house. Our dog didn’t want to leave the house, he was too scared so firefighters had to carry him out.” Downstairs, the floor is flooded and most of their items are soaked in water. The heartbroken mum said: "We have been told that we cannot live here anymore. The house is destroyed, gone."
