Robert Palmer, 77, died in hospital after being hit by a car in Stockport
The family of a 77-year-old man knocked down and killed on one of Stockport's busiest roads have told how they are 'struggling to come to terms with our loss'. Robert Palmer died in hospital after being hit by a car off the A6 Buxton Road on Thursday morning.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police say a car mounted the pavement and hit Mr Palmer near to junction of Fence Street at about 11.30am on Thursday. Pictures from the scene showed a white car smashed into a lamppost.
