At birth, baby Mila was taken straight to NICU and at just eight days old she underwent life-saving open heart surgery. The family have since praised Glasgow Children's Hospital for their incredible support during tough times.

A family have thanked staff at Glasgow 's Royal Hospital for Children staff after their baby girl's brave journey.

During their time in hospital, the Abercrombie family didn't know if baby Mila would make it, however with the hospital's wide range of support, their 10-week hospital journey was made that little bit easier. Speaking of VCreate, mum Chelsea said: “We found VCreate amazing as we stayed in Ronald McDonald House and were often called during the night to come back over. VCreate let us know she was safe and cosy and tucked in at night, as we weren’t allowed to stay in intensive care."We also had Inky Feet done as there were times they didn’t know if she was going to make it and needed memories."

Chelsea added: "The play team were amazing, they tried their hardest with mirrors, etc to help Mila see something different, as being ventilated and paralysed, meant she couldn’t move and was growing every day!"
