A massive truck convoy of farmers from across Australia has descended on Canberra to rally outside Parliament House on Tuesday.
A massive rally led by hundreds of farmers and a large truck convoy has taken place outside Parliament House as the Nationals Farmers Federation protest against the government’s “anti-farming agenda”.
“We want to tell all parliamentarians ahead of the next election that they should listen to farmers, not anti-farming activists,” NFF said. The demonstration has been led by a convoy of about 100 trucks driving from Goulburn, NSW to Federation Mall, opposite Parliament House in Canberra.“A truck convoy will travel to Canberra… and it will be active on our roads between approximately 8am and 11am,” police said.
“This Labor government has decimated our farming and agriculture industry. NFF President David Jochinke has argued: “Agriculture cannot be the solution for other sectors’ emissions through offsetting.” The farmers’ protest has focused on the ban on live sheep exports, set to take effect from May 1, 2028.
