The pair of fighting snakes measured 2.8m and 2.5m long, and reportedly weighing 22kg between them. 9News
" wow, I've never seen anything like this around this area and when I saw the size of the snakes ... they were some of the biggest and fattest snakes I'd seen."Mr Brown said he thought the pair had been in "combat" over another snake somewhere in the house or Mr Tait's garden.Mr Tait said he was surprised to find the gaping hole in his ceiling.
"It's just a sheet of fibro has broken in half and the snake fell on the kitchen top here ... knocked over plates and things but no other real damage," he said."I found them … the bigger one was crawling up under a cocktail cabinet and the other one had gone into a bedroom and was pressed up against a window."
He said aside from the occasional noise, which he attributed to a possum, he had no idea there were snakes in his roof. Mr Tait said if he ever heard noises like that again he'd "go straight outside and probably get a strengthened ceiling".The snakes were relocated to the nearby state forest but the possible third snake still has not been located.
