A coronial inquest is considering whether police acted appropriately during the pursuit of a young criminal who was driving a stolen van that crashed and killed 16-year-old Jacqueline Vodden (pictured).
The inquest will consider whether the pursuit was conducted in accordance with Victoria Police policy, and whether it should have been called off before the fatal crash.
But the officer could not remember whether he and his colleagues in the unmarked car had discussed what to do if they found the teen. The van veered onto the wrong side of the road in the town, including through a roundabout, the inquest was told.
