A 24-year-old Sydney father accused of shaking his baby boy to death didn't apply for bail in court and will stay behind bars until next year.

Emergency services were called to a home in Bidwill, west of the city last Friday night to reports a 10-week-child was unresponsive. The baby boy was taken to hospital in a critical condition and despite the efforts of doctors, died the next day.Last night, homicide squad detectives arrested the boy's father at Mount Druitt police station and charged him with manslaughter.The father wasn't brought up to the dock to face a magistrate and he didn't apply for bail in court.
