An American father and his teenage son have faced the same court just moments apart over the deadly mass shooting at a Georgia high school this week.

Authorities named the alleged gunman as Colt Gray, a 14-year-old student who attended the school. He was charged with four counts of manslaughter. He faces life in prison with or without the possibility of parole, with the judge adding he will not face the death penalty as he is under 18-years-old.Police have previously said he will be tried as an adult in court. A day earlier, it was revealed by police sources the father had allegedly gifted the firearm to his son last Christmas, which was then used to shoot up the high school.
