Police praise those who intervened during the Monday morning incident in Dampier
A father has been charged after he allegedly attempted to drown his child at a beach in northernWA police said they were called about 6.15am on Monday about the alleged attempted drowning at the Dampier foreshore.“Members of the community intervened and recovered the child,” police said in a statement.“The WA Police force want to commend the bravery and actions of the community members who intervened.

Police later confirmed a 26-year-old man had been charged with attempt to unlawfully kill, reckless driving and two counts of assault with intent to commission a crime.that the father was accused of driving a vehicle into the ocean and then carried the child, a five-year-old boy, into deeper water before allegedly holding him under.Topics
