A grandfather has lifted the lid on the 'horrific experience' endured by the families of several Australians hospitalised with suspected alcohol poisoning in Fiji.

The group is understood to have experienced nausea, vomiting and neurological symptoms after consuming the tainted beverages. "When you receive a phone call at 11 o'clock the other night and your daughter says that her daughter and herself have been poisoned and they were in hospital it's quite something," he said.
Although he said he was"none the wiser" as to how the suspected poisoning had occurred, he suggested he had faith local investigators would deliver a verdict soon.
