A mother-of-two accused of the triple murders of three family members after serving them a deadly mushroom meal has been placed into protected custody in jail.
An insider revealed there are fears Erin Patterson - the mother-of-two accused of killing three family members with a poisonous lunch - could be hurt by other inmates as she broke a major rule.
Patterson's ex husband Simon Patterson was meant to attend the lunch but pulled out last minute. Police also charged the mother-of-two with five counts of attempted murder, three of those against Mr Patterson after previous alleged incidents. "She allegedly killed three elderly people. There’s a rule, you don’t touch the elderly and you don’t touch babies so because of that, you go into protection," they said.
Heather Wilkinson also died, while her husband Ian was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but miraculously survived after spending two months recovering from injuries.
