A paramedic has tested positive for the coronavirus in Victoria, triggering fears patients may have been exposed to the disease.

Five of the paramedic’s colleagues have been forced into isolation as authorities work to trace how the worker contracted the virus.

Health and Safety representatives raised concerns paramedics were being put at risk by attending jobs without access to appropriate protective wear. In a statement the Victorian Ambulance Union said “this highlights the dangers our members and all health workers face during this pandemics”.
