Campaigners say nature in England faces ‘perfect storm of threats’ with eight promised bills yet to appear
for the chair of the taskforce closing in February there have been no further announcements.
Dr Lissa Batey, the head of marine conservation at the Wildlife Trusts, said: “We’re seeing a perfect storm of threats to nature from every quarter caused by government inaction, delay and reneging on commitments. “By allowing himself to be held hostage by rightwing climate sceptics on the Tory backbenches, the prime minister is putting his own future above that of thriving natural environment.”
