NSW Police are on edge over fears an assassination attempt on a suburban Sydney street could lead to retaliation attacks among bikie gangs.
About 2.20pm on Tuesday, officers from Nepean Police Area Command were called to Valencia Street, Caddens, near Penrith, following reports shots had been fired at a house. Police were told two masked men ran toward the home and opened fire at Jae Tregear as he arrived home. The 31-year-old, who is listed as a concreter on LinkedIn, was not injured.
It is understood this is not the first time Tregear has been attacked, with the concreter known to police. Following Tuesday’s attack, the men fled the scene in a stolen black Mercedes A45 coupe. The car was located on fire just before 3pm on Friend Street, Merrylands.Detectives released CCTV of one of the men involved in the shooting and are appealing for assistance to identify him.
