The T1 Western and North Shore Line, T8 Southern Line and T9 Northern Lines were the worst at arriving on time over February. The T1 Western Line was the worst, with 78.5 per cent of trains showing up on time, followed by the T1 North Shore Line, at 78.7 per cent. The T8 Southern Airport Line was on time 83.2 per cent of the time while the T9 Northern Line was on time 82.9 per cent of the time. While there was no industrial action in February, there were five deaths on the network which contributed to delays. "We had a number of significant emergency incidents that were largely out of our control... did create impacts for customers," Sydney Trains CEO Matt Longland said. "We're also seeing a lot more people catching the train - we're regularly carrying more than a million passengers each day across Sydney."The T1 Western and North Shore Line, T8 Southern Line and T9 Northern Lines were the worst at arriving on time over February. Shadow Transport Minister Natalie Ward said the train network saw the "worst four months of reliability on record". "They've managed to blame the weather, and Taylor Swift, they've managed to blame commuters," Ward said. Transport Minister Jo Haylen said intense rail repair programs are improving the network's reliability. "Passengers have waited less time, they've lost fewer minutes because of fewer faults and failures," Haylen said. "Ultimately, I won't be satisfied until there is a consistent high level of reliability passengers can have confidence in Sydney trains." Sydney Trains hit peak punctuality of 91.9 per in the five-month period from September to January.
