Believe it or not, Australia's economic recovery has been far stronger – and faster – than Treasury expected.
JobKeeper is now expected to cost the economy $12.5 billion less than expected. That's more than the Government is tipped to spend on infrastructure around the entire country tonight . Commodity prices, particularly iron ore, have soared – meaning government coffers are swelling every time we export a shipload of steel-making dust. The nation's tax base is also soaring well above expectations.
