The funding for the district’s Forging Resilient Communities program was secured by U.S. Sens. Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin. With the federal money perhaps helping resolve those problems, Clark said that “for my city it is going to make a tremendous change.” With the federal money in place, the initial step is to negotiate intergovernmental agreements with the communities, then examine sewer lines suspected of having the greatest issue with seepage of stormwater, Durkin said Friday.
