Auburn police said the FBI and Secret Service could get involved in the investigation. Here's why.

. As the suspects attempted to leave the mall, officers found them and stopped the vehicle before it could leave the mall.

Police found 80 fake ID cards and “numerous” bags of property purchased with stolen credit card information at other stores in New England. The suspects were all charged with larceny over $1,200, identity fraud, organized retail theft, improper use of a credit card and conspiracy.

The driver’s licenses found contained identifying information for different victims from across the country for the states of Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Licenses for different states carried matching faces from multiple individuals, which the Auburn police department shared on
