She is also more confident about getting into a medicine degree at the University of Sydney or UNSW, but will have to wait to do interviews and hear back in mid-January.More than 55,000 students received an ATAR this year, just a few hours after getting their HSC results on Tuesday.About 16.8 per cent of ATAR recipients got a rank of 90 or above, 33.4 per cent got at least 80 and 49.6 per cent received at least 70.The median ATAR for girls was 71.1, while the median for boys was 68.05.
Ms Paino also recommended that students preference the courses they most want to study first, make sure they know about specific university prerequisites and any additional requirements, and be aware of alternative pathways of entry.
