Ferrari has posted record profits just days after reports it is fighting a small Italian charity over rights for the name it wants to call its upcoming SUV.

The Italian sportscar specialist trumped last year’s figures across the board, with net profit — after a one-off tax adjustment — up 8 per cent to €699 million on the back of a 10 per cent increase in sales.
