Socceroos superstar Mark Viduka's condemnation of the way much of the Australian game has been set up – especially its failure to develop junior talent in the 15 years of the A-League – has won support from an unusual quarter.
''I think the PFA would support that. We need to find different broader pathways because we need to produce more players.''At the moment we are focussing on the immediate issues, but the bigger picture for football in this country is much broader pathways.'' ''I think until you spend some time at head office and understand the complextity of the issues [you don't have a full grasp of the situation[. We have a couple of directors [Bresciano and Duggan] who have come on board the last six months and realise the depth of the issues that we need to deal with.Mark is an icon of the game, once all this lifts I will go and grab him for a coffee''.
