Seven tourists, including four Australians, were hospitalized in Fiji after drinking pina coladas at a five-star resort. The Tourism Minister assures that Fiji is safe and this is an isolated incident.

Fiji’s Tourism Minister has dismissed concerns of a mass alcohol poisoning, saying the country is “typically very safe”. It comes after seven people, including four Australians, were hospitalized with suspected poisoning after drinking pina coladas at a five-star resort. Still awaiting results from “critical” toxicology tests, Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka said the incident was “very isolated” and declined to speculate on the cause.
