Baena, the acclaimed writer and director behind films such as Life After Beth, Joshy, The Little Hours, Horse Girl, and Spin Me Round, was found dead at his Los Angeles home on Friday morning. TMZ reported that Baena’s assistant discovered his body, and emergency services responded to the scene about 10.30 am.

Actress Aubrey Plaza and director/writer Jeff Baena had been together since 2011 and married in 2021. Despite their Hollywood careers, the couple kept their relationship mostly private, only announcing their marriage months after an intimate backyard ceremony.
