The Dragons’ bid to make the finals for the first time in six years will go down to the final round after Cronulla trounced Shane Flanagan’s side and blew the top-eight race wide open.

Just as Ramien and Kayal Iro scored soft tries in the opening 40, Briton Nikora cruised past Tom Eisenhuth at the hour mark to put the contest out of reach.Referee Ashley Klein did find himself denying Sloan a desperately needed late try when Hunt’s pass hit the whistleblower for a “where am I supposed to go?“, which was then followed by Sam Stonestreet scoring from a forward pass.
