Speaking in Lathi, Finland, on Wednesday, Ms Marin appeared red-eyed and choked back tears as she addressed leaked photos and videos of her private social life.
Ms Marin's tearful defence comes after she issued an apology for a photo showing two topless influencers kissing at a private party in her office.
The snap, which showed two women kissing holding a sign reading"Finland" covering their breasts, was taken at the Prime Minister’s residence in Helsinki in July. Ms Marin - who was not featured in the picture - said the group had attended a musical festival beforehand and returned to her residence where they"had a sauna, swam and spent time together".“I apologise for it. That kind of a picture should not have been taken but otherwise, nothing extraordinary happened at the get-together.”
