A suspicious fire at an Adelaide CBD hotel overnight causes about $250,000 damage, while police believe a separate fire at a home in the city's north is also a case of arson.

A suspicious fire at an Adelaide CBD hotel overnight has caused about $250,000 damage.

King William Street's Ambassadors Hotel was evacuated about 2:30am, after the rear of the building on Waymouth Place caught fire. Emergency services evacuated about 30 people, with firefighters containing the blaze to the outside of the building."Thankfully, there were no injuries," she said. "We believe the fire may have been deliberately lit and our crime scene investigators are at the scene assisting the investigation, so we're just asking anybody who may have seen some suspicious activity in the area around 2:20am this morning to contact Crime Stoppers."

Meanwhile, police say a separate fire at a unit in Elizabeth Park is also being treated as suspicious.Twelve firefighters worked for 45 minutes to bring the blaze under control.Fire cause investigators are treating the fire as suspicious.
