Fire crews contain 660-acre brush fire at Camp Pendleton [Breaking]
A brush fire on Tuesday burned nearly 660 acres of vegetation at Camp Pendleton before fire crews were able to contain it Tuesday night, authorities said.
The blaze never threatened any structures, never threatened any communities in surrounding North County and was contained toward the center of the Marine Corps base, according to officials.has a vegetation fire on their base near Romeo 3 training area. Smoke may be visible, but there is no fire threat to our district.The fire was reported around 4:40 p.m. near the Romeo 3 training area, according to a series of tweets from base officials.
As of 8:48 p.m. the fire has burned approximately 657 acres, it has been contained, and will be in patrol status throughout the night.
