Wednesday afternoon just after 2 p.m. fire crews worked to put out a grass fire in Wise County that prompted some areas to be evacuated.

Initially, people were to be prepared, but just before 3 p.m., law enforcement began evacuations on Port O Call Drive because the fire was moving northeast, according to the Facebook post. As of 5 p.m., the county's emergency management recommended the evacuation area remained in place until it's reevaluated around 7 p.m.
