Firefighters are battling flames stemming from the top floor of a tenement block in Edinburgh
Crews scrambled to Ashley Terrace at Polwarth in Edinburgh at 6.27pm today. Four fire engines, three pump appliances and a high-rise vehicle were drafted in to assist with the inferno.
It read: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Shandon Place, Ashley Terrace and Gray's Loan and are instead diverted via Slateford Road, Craiglockhart Avenue and Colinton Road in both directions until further notice." Multiple police vehicles were also drafted in to cordon off the area and ensure the safety of the public. It is currently unknown what started the blaze or if there are any injuries as a result.
