Firefighters are still at the scene of a large commercial blaze at Edwardstown that started early this morning.

Triple-0 calls raised the alarm at about 2:00am for the fire at a warehouse off South Road between Angus Avenue and Ackland Street. Sixty firefighters were called to help, with a large damage bill expected after the premises was gutted.Police said local residents should remain indoors and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.

While traffic on South Road is not affected, police reminded motorists to travel below 25 kilometres per hour past emergency vehicles.
