Firefighters arrived to find the super yacht engulfed by flames, which threatened to spread to other luxury vessels.
Police are investigating the cause of a blaze that destroyed a super yacht owned on Sydney’s lower north shore on Saturday night.
“Initial firefighting efforts were to not only extinguish the fire, but stop it spreading to a number of high-value vessels that were moored alongside the motor yacht. A young dockworker on-site at the time moved those other vessels away from the fire,” Dewberry said.The charred remains of the super yacht poked above the surface of the water, which was dotted with debris, on Sunday morning.Firefighters worked through the night to put out the blaze, which was extinguished about 6am.
