People in the area have been ordered to evacuate.
It's believed as many as four homes have been caught in the fire in Woolloongabba, just south of the CBD.
Police have put a public safety preservation act in place, covering Heaslop Street, Merton Road, Catherine Street, and Annerley Road.The exclusion zone was put in place just before 3am.Anybody in the area has been asked to evacuate their home.
