As South Australia endures another day of severe heat, dozens of firefighters have been kept busy by a large industrial fire at a mulch facility which has sent large amounts of smoke over Whyalla and surrounding areas.
About 50 firefighters have been battling a large blaze at a mulch facility near Whyalla which has threatened to spread to a diesel tank at the site.Authorities are expecting the heatwave, and firefighting efforts, to continue tomorrow.
Water bombers were earlier called in and the MFS said crews were working to stop flames of up to 10 metres spreading to other infrastructure, including a 3,000-litre diesel tank. The MFS said a building had been destroyed and that crews had worked hard to stop the fire spreading to a diesel tank.
