Firefighters are frantically working to extinguish an out-of-control bushfire raging on the outskirts on Perth in Western Australia.
A large fire has been burning at an emergency level near the Perth Hills for several hours, prompting a huge response from emergency crews to tackle the blaze which has already ravaged 650 hectares of land.

The fire started on Tuesday about 12pm near Toodyay Road in Gidgegannup and has since burnt through a whopping 650 hectares of land. An emergency warning is currently in place for locals in parts of Red Hill, Millendon, Herne Hill and Baskerville in the City of Swan, about 25 kilometres from Perth CBD.Residents in these areas are in danger from the fire and need to act immediately.Those whose evacuation routes have been blocked by the fire are now being told to shelter in place. The fire is moving in a westerly direction and appears to have burnt through large parts of the Wandoo Heights Nature Reserve. At least 120 personnel are on the scene battling to put the flames out including members of the DFES, SES and Parks and Wildlife Service firefighters.Roe Highway, Great Northern Highway and Toodyay Road especially affectedRed Hill/Gidgegannup fire looks pretty intense from Ellenbrook. Flames visible even from this distance. Very windy out here too. Watch and act in place.A number of roads in the region have been closed including Padbury Avenue, Hardwick Road, William Street from Moore Road and Campersic between Stock Road and Hadrill Road.A Watch and Act warning is in place for parts of Gidgegannup and Middle Swan as well as those in an area bounded by Stock Road to the north, Oakover Road to the south and Railway Crescent to the west in parts of Herne Hill. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services warned on Tuesday it could take “three or four days” to control the blaze.
