Good morning -- and get ready for some weather surprises today. Rain in the morning will switch over to snow as the day goes on, and the temperatures will plummet. A flash freeze is possible in some places. Here's what to expect:

Friday began with some fog, a few icy spots, frost and temperatures in the mid-30s. But, we’re in for a warm up throughout the day with a high around 60 degrees in many neighborhoods in the afternoon.Temps Drop Quickly With Snow Likely Saturday

As the morning progresses, a cold front will move in, causing temperatures to quickly drop and precipitation to drastically change. Before noon Saturday the rain will switch to a wintry mix and snow throughout the region. The transition to snow should happen first in the Lehigh Valley and most northern and western suburbs -- where a wintry mix could be falling by 8 a.m. -- then move south.

Have that snow shovel ready, depending where you are. Expect 1 to 3 inches of snow -- especially on grassy surfaces -- in the Pennsylvania suburbs, the northernmost Philadelphia neighborhoods , northernmost Delaware and Mercer County. Three to 6 inches could fall in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County where snow sticking to roads and sidewalks is more likely.
