The first of four million doses of Pfizer are expected to arrive from the UK on Sunday.
450,000 doses were loaded on to a Qantas charter flight from London on Saturday after the government was able to secure an extra 160,000 more than anticipated on an additional charter flight.500,000 doses – which arrived from Singapore earlier this week – have been approved by the TGA ahead of schedule and will be distributed in coming days.
The arrival of the jabs comes as the government expands its vaccine eligibility; the TGA approved the Moderna vaccine for 12-17 year olds.
