An Australian doctor has insisted "no corners have been cut" as a human trial for aClinical research company Nucleus Network are looking to recruit a small sample of healthy volunteers who will be injected with some of the virus' surface. The hopes are this will generate an immune response without exposing participants to the live virus.

The vaccine being trialled is one developed by the United States and is one infectious diseases physician and microbiologist Dr Paul Griffin believes looks "really promising".there is no chance the trial will result in any infections, and insisted no corners are being cut in the race to find a cure."We still have to progress through all the stages of clinical trials and we have to make sure it is safe and effective before we proceed," he said.

The race for a vaccine is one that is taking place across the globe, with even Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates spending billions to find a cure.World Health OrganisationHowever, Dr Griffin insisted that vaccines are not a lucrative business for those involved aren't doing so for riches.
