First images for the final season of The Flash premiere have been released.
The CW has released the first official promotional images for The Flash season 9 premiere. The end is near for the Arrowverse's longest-running show on The CW. After starring as Barry Allen for nearly a decade, Grant Gustin is returning as the fastest man alive for one final season. The Flash season 9, which was greenlit in 2022, was confirmed to be its last one during the fall, as they scored a 13-episode order.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY As The Flash season 9 is approaching, The CW has officially released the promotional images for the first episode. Titled "Wednesday Ever After," the season premiere was directed by Vanessa Parise, with story by Eric Wallace, while Thomas Pound and Sarah Tarkoff wrote the teleplay. The episode airs on Wednesday, February 8, at its regular 8 PM timeslot. The photos see Team Flash both in and out of STAR Labs.
The Flash season 9 premiere will see Barry taking it a step too far as he attempts to plan his future with Iris. According to the official episode description, Barry creates a map book to serve as a guide, particularly to keep Iris safe. However, this causes some type of time loop effect as they begin reliving the same day over and over again. It will essentially be a Groundhog Day-themed episode for the final season premiere. The new big bad will also be introduced to the team in this episode.
"Wednesday Ever After" will also likely get to the bottom of what happened to Caitlin after the events of The Flash season 8 finale. It's a bittersweet time for the Arrowverse as The Flash marks the final Earth-Prime-based series in the franchise. Even if Superman & Lois were to get renewed for season 4, the show takes place on a different Earth in the Arrowverse, leaving The Flash on its own.
