That’s a hard act to follow.The team behind Death & Taxes and Dr Gimlette has created a 50-seat bolthole dedicated to classic cocktails.But the Langes and the Wards have done this before. And by now their collection of bars feels less a hospitality group and more a well-oiled drinks-making machine.

But otherwise the venue has an entirely different feel, with the group rolling out its typical touches of dark timber panelling, vintage-style light fittings, mosaic tile floors and buttoned leather booths and banquettes. What’s different is the approach to drinks. Antico eschews Death & Taxes and Dr Gimlette’s lengthy cocktail lists and enormous back bars, or Cobbler’s focus on whisky, and instead drills down on a seasonal collection of just 10 original cocktails.AdvertisementMorgan Roberts
