Thomas O’Reilly, 45, his wife Bridget, 46, and their three year old grandson Tom died in the collision
Gardai have released the first picture three-year-old Tom O'Reilly, who died along with his grandparents in a horror car crash in Tipperary last night.
“They’re numb. They’re trying to deal with the loss of three family members, and such a young life lost in those three. It’s very difficult. Gardai said that a Family Liaison Officer have been appointed to the family to provide support and the family will be kept updated as to the course of the investigation.
“The scene last night was traumatic and very difficult for everyone in attendance. The professionalism shown by all first responders and the compassion shown to the 3 deceased was commendable. Meanwhile family members attended the scene earlier this morning and declined to speak - with one member saying “sorry we’re devastated.”
“They’re a well known family on Cashel. I went to school with some of them as well. It’s so sad for them at the moment. Asked what it says about life, Mr Browne said: “It's very short we should enjoy it. Look it there’s plenty of rumours going around about what happened in all these accidents, it's hard to know. There's going to be an investigation taking place now.
