Five people were arrested early Saturday after an attempted ATM theft and smash-and-grab at a north Houston pharmacy, police said.Five people were arrested, including possibly four juveniles, after leading police on a brief pursuit early Saturday following an attempted smash-and-grab at a CVS Pharmacy in north Houston, police said.

The suspects, who were driving a stolen vehicle, had also tried to steal an ATM earlier in the night, police said. Police were first called around 3:30 a.m. to the attempted ATM theft at bank in the 7600 block of North Shepherd Drive. Officers noted a description of the vehicle and, about 30 minutes later, were called to a CVS Pharmacy at Irvington and Cavalcade, where a vehicle matching the description had just rammed into the entrance, police said.

Police eventually found the vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup, in the area and tried to pull over the driver. A brief chase ensued. Officers had to use a PIT maneuver to stop the driver, police said.
