There is now a total of 1,039 buildings at risk across Northern Ireland that still have potential to be regenerated and revived for future use

The Hertiage at Risk Register for Northern Ireland turns 30 years old this year after being created through a parternship between Ulster Architectural Heritage and the Historic Environment Division.

With red Flemish bond brickwork, the ground floor appears to be rebuilt with later brick; rusticated stucco quoins to east corner, stucco eaves fascia, string course to first floor cill and plinth under ground floor cill. The parish hall at St Mark’s Church of Ireland on the Ligoneil Road, a basalt hall formerly utilised as a national schoolhouse, was constructed in 1874-75.

The building is currently vacant and in a fair condition. Vegetation growth between some mortar joints is visible. A new use for the structure should be found sooner rather than later as this would stave off decay. An image of 1929 shows the building in its current condition. It had been utilised as an office/business space until recently but is now vacant.
