Five Pa. corrections officers assaulted a naked inmate and tried to cover it up with the aid of their lieutenant, according to federal authorities. U.S. Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero provided details on a 2020 incident where a guard named Ronald C. Granville, 42, was involved in an assault on an inmate at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility in Northeast Philadelphia and hence, later pleaded guilty to charges, which include deprivation of rights under color of law and falsification of records,“The incident for which he has accepted full responsibility took mere moments,” said James A. Funt, Granville’s attorney.
