Five people were killed in four separate shootings around the District in a violent beginning to Labor Day weekend.

The bloodshed began around 1:45 p.m. Friday, when D.C. police said they responded to a shooting in the 5100 block of Astor Place SE.

Police are looking for two suspects in connection to the incident. The first is described as a Black man, about 5-foot-7, and was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue jean shorts and black and red Nike shoes. The other is described as a heavyset woman who was seen wearing a tan shirt and tan bottoms.
