We look at five celebrities, including Helen Flanagan and Sam Faiers, who have opened up on their acne battles and skin journeys –and the candid images they've posted about breakouts
Since acne affects over a third of British adults at some point during their lives – and not just during adolescence – it’s a common skin concern for many of us.
Recently, she shared on Instagram that she has undergone ‘life-changing’ Potenza treatments, which use microneedling and radiofrequency to penetrate the top layer of the skin to aid in the healing of acne scars and active acne. Sam Faiers Back in 2020, former TOWIE star Sam Faiers opened up about her journey after suffering with adult acne on Instagram.
Sam believes that collagen is the only thing that has worked on her skin and has since launched her own company, Revive Collagen, which helps those suffering from psoriasis, rosacea and eczema. The model referred back to the awards show in her Proactiv campaign, saying: “I remember last year I was at an award show and I was very excited about it, I'd never been before. And I got on the carpet I felt really good about myself, I loved my dress and my hair and my makeup was so beautiful. I went through the night, and I felt great. Then I remember going online and seeing all the horrible things people were saying about me and my skin.
Keke Palmer American actress Keke Palmer struggles with polycystic ovary syndrome , which can cause weight gain, oily skin and acne breakouts. Consequently, Keke has been suffering with her skin, but maintains a positive outlook on the condition and encourages her fans to do the same.
