Flights to and from Bali have been cancelled across Australia following multiple volcanic eruptions in Indonesia . Jetstar and Virgin have grounded flights to and from Bali due to ash clouds from Indonesia ’s Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki after it erupted multiple times over the last few days. An AirAsia plane departed before 7pm but a flight scheduled to fly just before 8.30pm on Tuesday night has been delayed.
“We are trying to find accommodation for the night with room costs now going up by 40 per cent. “We have rebooked our flight for Wednesday night so we hope we can leave.” Multiple flights to the East Coast from the popular holiday destination have also been cancelled with volcanic ash plume rising up to 5500 metres altitude. Travellers have been advised to contact the airline they are flying on if their flights have been cancelled.
