Liberal MP Nicolle Flint has slammed the ABC for its “completely unbalanced reportage”, labelling the network’s program which purportedly explores the issues faced by women in Australian politics as “pure opinion”.

“It’s just extraordinary what they’ve done in this program – it’s not journalism, it’s pure opinion,” she told Sky News host Cory Bernardi. “So much of the information that they present in this program is historic, so as usual, the ABC is trying to apply current, modern standards to things that may have happened 20, 30, 40, 50, 100 years ago which I think is just completely disingenuous.

“All of this doesn’t do women any favours when we’re trying to deal with the very real issues of women’s safety in and around politics, which I’m very passionate about.
